Moving in Day!

EXCITING...!

So on Tuesday I am going to be moving into my new flat!!! It's my first ever home and I can't wait for the day to come! I just wanted to share this with you all to let you know what I'm doing at the mo :)

When I'm all settled it will be much easier to post blog posts and do photos etc, because I'll be able to spread out and it will just be me. Maybe in the next couple of weeks I'll do a post to show it to you guys!

Hope you're all okay, speak soon :) <3

SO EXCITED! Real Techniques Brushes

Hello, hello, hello!!

I am so excited because today my Real Techniques Brushes finally arrived! Waiting for a delivery is just the most frustrating thing... Especially when it is something to do with makeup :))

I ordered the Nic's Picks set, which includes the following brushes:
  • Duo-Fiber Face Brush
  • Cheek Brush
  • Angled Shadow Brush
  • Base Shadow Brush
  • Eyeliner Brush
I mainly ordered this set because I had wanted the Eyeliner Brush - There were a few other sets which included this brush... Or I could buy it as a single brush (Which is wayyy more expensive), but this set stood out to me!
I liked the fact there was a range of brushes, with face ones as well as just eye brushes. The main reason I wanted the Eyeliner Brush was to use it for my eyebrows :)

Any of the brushes I have to do my eyebrows with at the moment are too chunky, and this doesn't work for doing intricate and detailed brows. This one is a lot more refined and helps to create very fine lines!
Some of the other brushes look fab too... Especially the Cheek Brush (Which is exclusive to this set) and the Base Shadow Brush

Who else has got this set? Have you tried the Eyeliner Brush? What are your favourite Real Techniques brushes?

Looking forward to hearing your replies!

Here I am... Again

Hello Everyone...

<3 <3 <3

I'm not sure if you're all still with me, but I just wanted to say that I am so, so, so very sorry that it has taken me so long to write another post. I don't know what happened, but sometimes don't you find (other bloggers) that you can get a bit overwhelmed with blogging and need a break?

Well that was me, and as I said... I'm sorry x

I think Blogmas took it out of me if I'm honest. I don't think I will be doing it again for a while :( It drained my inspiration as I was trying a bit too hard to think of worthy posts.
I actually went and deleted them all just now :O

So yes, this is really just a hello, howdy, hi post to say I'm back! Hope you're all having a good week :) Look forward to posting with you again!!

Jelaca x

P.s. I scrapped the old theme of something old, something new, something borrowed, something you... Sorry if you liked that (I can keep doing it if you miss it!)

Something New - Makeup Buys...

Hello!

Yesterday I went to Superdrug and noticed they had the 3 for 2 offer (where you spend hours in the shop looking for the third free item...) I am guilty and have to say I found this too hard to resist!
So after seeing Revolution's eyeshadow palettes at such an amazing price I went on the hunt for two other products to go with the deal.

The Revolution pallete I chose was Iconic 3 for only £4! :O I chose this because of the pink and peachy shades and the range of tones within the set. This is something I think is very important with palettes as you often get some that don't have very dark shades, they can sometimes be very medium tones which can make it difficult to create dramatic looks!
After using this today, I can say I am very happy with it. The colours show up really well and the pigmentation is fabulous! The range of different shades is great, so really helps with building up tones for a smokey eye look.

I may have to have a look at some of their other palettes (and start all over with the 3 for 2 offer... Yay!)

The second product I bought was another from Revolution. I was in need of a new liquid eyeliner, so I thought I would give their one a go. At only £3.50, I couldn't really go wrong ;) It is called Double Flick and Thin and has two ends. One end is obviously thin and the other thick! I used the thin side this morning and felt it was great for precision and creates a really great flick! I was a little apprehensive as anyone is with using a new eyeliner, but have to say I was pleasantly surprised and it is definitely worth the money.

I was initially looking for something for under £3/4 so that I wouldn't have to spend more than I had intended... Not that I had intended to buy 3 items in the first place! However as you do, I came across Lottie London. I found their nail polish range and was so excited to see To and FROW! What a gorgeous colour it is... It has pink/red glitter with a blue shimmer and looks absolutely gorgeous on! Now, I did spend more than £3/4, as this polish was £5.99 which I would normally not pay for a nail varnish, but as this was in the offer, it only cost me a little bit..!

I find it works best if you use a base coat of a deep blue or maybe even a dark pink colour, as it really brings out the sparkle :) I will show you a nail tutorial for this if people would like to see it!

Let me know what you think of these products, have any of you tried these?

Something Borrowed - Paloma Faith Copy Cat

Paloma Faith Copy Cat

When I was about 16, I was so in love with Paloma Faith's style. I thought her hair and makeup was fantastic and so different, so I thought I'd make it my aim in life to look like her.

Yes, it's funny I know, but I'm sure we've all done it...! (Well maybe not with Paloma, but hey ho)

I went to the extremes of dying my hair ginger, analysing all of her makeup looks and even cutting a full fringe once in order to achieve her look.

When I look back on this it does make me laugh! Despite the fact I can safely say that I am out of this phase, I do still like trying out makeup looks and seeing how makeup can completely change your appearence. It's crazy really, but quite fun if you've got a bit of time on your hands and a creative mood!

So what I want to know is if any of you have had a stage in your life when you have tried so hard to look like someone. If so, who were they? It would be great to see pictures too if you have any!

Thanks for reading, catch you later x
